【Chemical Nature】
Acid phenolic syntan
【Properties】
Shenotan JR-309 has strong retanning effect. It is light fast and heat resistant. It helps the penetration of anionic dyestuff and the leveling of dyeing. Leathers treated with Shenotan JR-309 are full, soft and fluffy with fine grain. Due to its bleaching effect, Shenotan JR-309 can be also used to produce white leather or colored leathers in pale shades.
At low pH, Shenotan JR-309 acts as a bleaching syntan; whereas at high pH, Shenotan JR-309 acts as a filling syntan.

【Application】
2-3% Shenotan JR-309 can be used with the chrome retan to improve tightness, softness, and fullness.
2-3% Shenotan JR-309 can be added together with an alkali for neutralization, resulting in grain filling without distortion. 3-10% Shenotan JR-309 can be used alone or together with conventional retanning agents or dyestuff for filling and penetration.
2-5% Shenotan JR-309 can be used after anionic fatliquoring for better penetration of oil and diminished oiliness of the leather surface. In all cases, higher level of treatment will yield more softening of the leather.
【Transportation and Storage】
Shenotan JR-309 is categorized as non-DG cargo, can be transported and stored normally. The powder and liquid products have a shelf life of at least one year if they are stored in their tightly sealed original packaging at temperatures between 8℃ and 40℃. Drums should be tightly resealed each time material is taken from them, and their contents should be used up as soon as possible after they are opened.
