Shenotan JAN

  • Shenotan JAN【Chemical Nature】
Amphoteric condensation products of aromatic sulphonic acids

    【Properties】
Leathers retanned with Shenotan JAN have a firm, fine grain and medium fullness and softness. They also have high light fastness and good heat resistance.
Shenotan JAN lightens the shade of dyed leather to a much lesser extent than conventional syntans. This makes it a very effective choice in cases in which leathers need to be dyed to a deep shade in spite of having been retanned with syntans.
Shenotan JAN is compatible with all conventional anionic retanning agents. It is also compatible with chrome tanning agents and combination tanning agents that contain chrome. Shenotan JAN has a dispersing action on vegetable tanning agents.

    【Characteristic features】
    Physical form: Fine, yellowish powder
    Effective Substance(%):≥94
    PH Value(1:10): 3.5~4.5

    【Application】
It can also be added along with the chrome tanning agents if its purpose is to improve the fullness of leather retanned with chrome. This method gives full leathers with a very fine grain that can easily be dyed to intense shades.
In conventional retannages, Shenotan JAN is applied in a fresh bath after the leather has been neutralized, or in the neutralization bath at the end of this process.
The normal dosage is between 2% and 8 % based on shaved weight.

    【Transportation and Storage】
Shenotan JAN is categorized as non-DG cargo, can be transported and stored normally. The powder and liquid products have a shelf life of at least one year if they are stored in their tightly sealed original packaging at temperatures between 0 ℃ and 40℃.
